WWW Wednesday | January 9, 2019

Last year, I totally I totally didn’t do any WWW Wednesday or any bookish memes at all but this year, I will try to do my best to post as often as I can. So, without further ado, here’s my first WWW Wednesday of 2019.

This book meme is hosted by Sam of Taking on a World of Words. You just have to answer 3 simple questions.

The three questions are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finished reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Let’s Go Swimming on Doomsday by Natalie Anderson. I’ve been luckily invited by Penguin Random House BFYR to join the blog tour for this one. It is a realistic fiction. This book deals with heavy issues including kidnapping, blackmailing, terrorism, child soldiers and more, which is set in Somalia. I’m currently at 28% into it and I’m liking it so far. I definitely don’t like the situation the characters were in which makes it a bit hard to read because it’s a devastating and traumatic situation but this story tells a harsh truth we all have to face. And I think, talking about the truths happening in third-world countries is quite important.

The Dark Between Stars by Atticus. I am mildly disappointed with this one. I loved Atticus’ Love Her Wild and this book’s cover but I wasn’t as satisfied as I hoped I would be. It’s a shame because this was nominated in Goodreads Best Poetry book award last year. I think I loved the photographs even more than the poems as a whole because they are mostly breathtaking and perfect for people like me who loves stars, the universe, and everything in between. Fortunately there are still some beautiful and good pieces that I liked so I gave this a 3/5 rating.

Bad Romance by Heather Demetrios. It’s one of the ARCs I’ve been meaning to read which I got last year. I’m promising myself this year to read all the ARCs I got last year and the year before and this one’s the first. As far as I can remember, this one talks about a toxic relationship. I also saw that before the 1st chapter begin, there’s a quotation of Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance lyrics which is kinda cool, I guess.

Have you read any of these? or have you also done this meme before? Feel free to leave the link below so I can read your post and visit your blog!

    1. Ah yes please! It’s a good way to talk about the books you’re reading, read, and will read. I also find it fun to do and read.

    1. I just started it and ohgod I love the writing and the main character’s voice. Aw, thank you also Kati! I hope you’ll be able to read it soon too. I think it might take me weeks to finish it though because of my busy schedule. 😞
